Thieves tie up clerk in Genesee Street armed robbery

Two people robbed a corner store at 819 Genesee St. on Tuesday afternoon, according to a Buffalo police report.

The male assailants, one of whom displayed a handgun, tied up the store clerk's hands with USB cables and stuffed underwear in his mouth during the robbery, which happened at about 2:45 p.m., according to the report.

The thieves took two cartons of cigarettes, cash and personal items from the clerk, including his watch and cell phone.

One suspect was wearing a dark blue T-shirt, blue jeans, a tan hat and Timberland shoes. The other wore a light blue T-shirt, light blue jeans, a white hat with a black logo and Timberland shoes, according to the report. There was no estimate of the assailants' ages in the report.

They fled the scene on foot down Fox Street towards Sycamore Street.
