Mayor Byron W. Brown's strongest support among Common Council districts was in Masten, where he captured an average of 69 percent of the vote. At the smaller neighborhood level, though, support for the mayor was strongest in a portion of the Ellicott District in the Lower West Side, where 86 percent of voters cast ballots for the incumbent.
South Buffalo delivered for Mark J.F. Schroeder, where he won 80 percent of the vote. The area that turned out strongest for Buffalo's comptroller: the area around McClellan Circle, where Schroeder lives.
Like Brown, third-place finisher Betty Jean Grant found her strongest support in the Masten District, but she won only 21 percent of the vote there.
The three candidates tied in only one election district: North 26, the district that includes Buffalo State College. There, only three people voted – one for each candidate.
