WORTHY WORKOUT – The Buffalo Athletic Club for Women holds its fourth annual Fit Bash fundraiser to benefit the new John R. Oishei Children’s Hospital from 4 to 10 p.m. Friday in the BAC’s Colvin-Eggert location at 3157 Eggert Road, Town of Tonawanda.

WELCOME MAT – Accepting new members is the Seneca Babcock Community Center’s Senior Program, which will hold an open house from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the center, 1168 Seneca St. Information will be available about the lunch program for seniors 60 and older, along with activities such as games, crafts, choir, holiday parties and monthly trips.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS – How opera composers define their characters with music will be the topic at 10:30 a.m. Saturday as Opera Buffs of Western New York host their Inside Opera Lecture Series in Rockwell Hall Room 124 at SUNY Buffalo State.
