Hurricanes call for putting aside political partisanship
The destruction caused by a series of hurricanes is sufficient to call for a revision of our economic and political priorities. The problems call for putting the economy on something equivalent to a “wartime” footing.
This is not the time to talk about tax cuts. Building a wall becomes less important than restoring safe and reliable drinking water and power supplies.
The economic effects will not be limited to the impacted areas. It will change the total level of economic activity as well as affect individuals who rely on goods and services produced in the region.
