A Jamestown man is facing drug and traffic charges after Jamestown police said he fled Monday during a traffic stop.
Thomas A. Kimbrough Sr., 47, was observed shortly after 8 p.m. driving through a stop sign, police said. When officers attempted to pull Kimbrough over, he took off at a high rate of speed into the Town of Busti, through the Village of Lakewood and into the Town of Ellicott. Kimbrough abandoned the pickup in Jamestown and fled on foot before being apprehended, police said.
Police said Kimbrough was in possession of 6.8 grams of cocaine packaged for sale. Kimbrough was charged with three felonies — criminal possession of a controlled substance, reckless endangerment and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle — as well as DWI, unlawful fleeing a police officer, obstructing governmental administration and vehicle and traffic infractions, according to police.
