The Kenmore-Town of Tonawanda Board of Education plans to move to new high-tech meeting room in the Kenmore Middle School next month and will hold its last meeting in the Philip Sheridan Building at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 12.
John Brucato, assistant superintendent of finance, said the move will also allow the district to put the Elmwood Avenue building up for sale.
He said the new meeting room at Kenmore Middle School cost several hundred thousand dollars and was retrofitted over the past six months with state-of-the-art equipment for the board or for staff conferences. Videos of the board meetings will not be livestreamed because students are involved, he said.
The school is no longer a middle school, but is used for universal pre-kindergarten and an alternative high school program.
