County Legislature, City Court and town contests also on ballot

While Buffalo's mayoral campaign has drawn a lot of attention, Tuesday’s ballot also features a Democratic primary in the Erie County Legislature’s 2nd District for the seat being vacated by Betty Jean Grant, who is running for mayor. The Legislature contest includes April N. Baskin, Charley H. Fisher III, David A. Martinez and Duncan E. Kirkwood.

There also is a Buffalo City Court contest for two judicial positions involving incumbent Betty Calvo-Torres and challengers Andrew C. LoTempio and Joseph T. Jarzembek.

Several suburban contests are also expected to attract voters, including the Democratic race for Hamburg supervisor between James M. Shaw and Dennis Gaughan, and the Amherst Town Council contest for two spots featuring Erin K. Baker, Christopher Drongosky and Joseph A. Spino Jr.

Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. in Erie County, and from noon to 9 p.m. in all other upstate counties.
