Grand opening ceremonies this month will mark the completion of new athletic fields at two of the Williamsville Central School District's high schools.
A ceremony will be held at 6:15 p.m. Sept. 15 at Williamsville South High School, 5950 Main Street. Due to limited parking, a shuttle from Mill Middle School begins at 5 p.m. At Williamsville South, the district added a synthetic turf field and built a new stadium with bleacher capacity for 2,700 people.
A ceremony will be held at 6 p.m. on Sept. 22 at Williamsville East High School, 151 Paradise Road, East Amherst. At Williamsville East, the district added two multipurpose synthetic fields for soccer, field hockey, lacrosse, baseball and football to allow for two games to be played at the same time.
Both schools also received other enhancements such as new scoreboards and sound systems.
