A superhero of a book sale in Tonawanda

The Kenmore-Town of Tonawanda Friends of the Library will hold its annual Big Book Sale on Sept. 13 to 16 at Lincoln Arena, at the corner of Parker Boulevard and Decatur Street in Tonawanda.

The theme, "Reading is my Super Power," touts the power of unlocking a book and learning to read as the most important part of a child's education, said Laura Glass, president of Friends of the Library. Funds raised will be used to support library reading programs and literacy outreach.

More than 40,000 books will be on sale for readers of all ages with most books priced at $2 or less.

The sale is scheduled 4 to 8 p.m. Sept. 13 for shoppers who pay $6 admission ($8 per family) and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sept. 14 and 15 with no admission charged. An all-day $5 bag sale is scheduled 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 16.
