Lancaster Opera House has teamed up with the University at Buffalo Department of Sociology to present a free community film series.
The films will focus on hot-button topics including health and healthcare, gender equality and racial justice. The films are meant to engage community members with key sociological questions about how to build fairer and more supportive communities.
The series begins at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 11 at the opera house, 21 Central Ave., with "Unnatural Causes - Is Inequality Making Us Sick?"
The schedule is: Sept. 18, "Waiting Room"; Sept. 25, "Miss Representation"; Oct. 9, "The Mask You Live In"; Oct. 16, "I Am Not Your Negro"; Nov. 13, "Freedom to Marry"; and Nov. 20, "Jackson."
