Groups of robbers attack two pizza deliverymen in Buffalo

Two pizza deliverymen were recently beaten and robbed in Buffalo by groups of robbers.

In one of the robberies, the thieves also attacked the girlfriend of one of the deliveryman, according to police reports.

A group of four or five attackers robbed a deliveryman just before 6 p.m. Wednesday on Chatham Avenue, off Elmwood Avenue just north of Delaware Park, according to a Buffalo police report.

After beating the man, two of the attackers punched the man's girlfriend who was sitting in a nearby car. The robbers stole cash, a cell phone and keys from the deliveryman. The robbers got into a white Chevrolet Malibu and fled north on Elmwood, according to the report.

In another robbery, a deliveryman told police he was struck in the leg with a metal pole during an attack by three people on Stewart Avenue, off Walden Avenue near the Cheektowaga border. The police report filed early Thursday morning did not list the date or time of the attack.

The thieves took pizza, chicken wings and cash, according to the report.

Buffalo police arrested a 16-year-old, according to the police report. The specific charges levied were not listed. Two other suspects have not been apprehended.

The reports did not indicate whether the robberies were connected.
