Sept. 9 – WNY Kayak Anglers Bass on the Oak Tournament from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. $20 entry fee. Weigh in at the Black North Inn.

Sept. 13 – Special DEC public meeting to discuss maintaining current salmon and trout stocking levels in Lake Ontario from 6:30-9 p.m. at Cornell Cooperative Extension Niagara, 4487 Lake Ave. (Route 78), Lockport.

Sept. 14 – Erie County Federation of Sportsmen’s Clubs monthly meeting at the Springville Field and Stream, 13915 White St, Springville. Board meeting is at 6:30 p.m. and regular meeting is at 7 p.m.

Sept. 14 – Lake Ontario Trout and Salmon Association monthly meeting at Cornell Cooperative Extension Niagara, 4487 Lake Ave., Lockport starting at 7 p.m. Focus will be on a season wrap-up with multiple captains. Open to the public.

Sept. 15 – Deadline to apply for waterfowl permit lottery for Oak Orchard and Tonawanda State WMAs for opening weekend of duck and goose season.

Sept. 16 – Early Black Bear season opens in the Northern Zone through Oct. 13.

Sept, 16 – Northern Zone bowhunting season for Black Bear opens through Oct. 20.
