The overwhelming success of the Buffalo Niagara Marriott's foray into the food truck scene has prompted an extension through the end of September.
"I hoped that this would be a success, but am overwhelmed by the gratitude that our guests express each week for bringing Food Truck Friday to the Marriott," said Alison Potter, catering sales manager. "I live in the neighborhood and knew that a family friendly environment with free accessible parking, live music and food trucks in WNY would be popular, but could have never imagined this kind of success in the first year."
The food truck vendors and guests asked to extend the event into September, with the same start time of 5:30 p.m.
"With the UB students back, one could say I felt the need to feed the community," said Potter. "We plan on starting earlier next season and will expand on the food truck idea. Food truck weddings, office parties, happy hours and birthday celebrations are just a few ideas I have."
Along with rotating food trucks, bands scheduled to perform areMick Hayes, Sept. 8; Boys of Summer, Sept. 15; Flipside, Sept. 22; and Speedy Parker, Sept. 29. Live music continues indoors at the Blue Fire Grill from 7 to 10 p.m. Fridays in October, with the same lineup of bands.
