WELCOME MAT – Asbury Pointe Retirement Community, 50 Stahl Road off North Forest Road, Getzville, will hold three open house sessions this month – from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, from 4 to 7 p.m. Sept. 14 and from 1 to 4 p.m. Sept. 23.
Visitors will be able to speak to residents and tour the apartments, which include such amenities as granite countertops and custom cupboards. All are welcome. Reservations are not required. For more info, call 810-7500.

KEEPERS – Buffalo Bills Hall of Famer Andre Reed and antiques expert Bill Hartung will be special guests at the first Collectors’ Expo, which will feature dozens of vendors and artisans from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday in the Buffalo Irish Center, 245 Abbott Road.
Reed will sign autographs for $30. In conjunction with his appearance, printer The Pickle Ship from Orchard Park will team with Cheektowaga artist Ken Newton to produce limited-number Reed prints on a vintage press right there at the show.
Hartung will appraise antiques from 10 a.m. to noon for $2 per item, up to three items per person. Proceeds from the appraisals and the $2 admission price for the show will benefit the Irish Center, South Buffalo Alive and Dog Ears Bookstore. FURRY FRIENDS – The Genesee County 4-H Program is reviving its 4-H Dog Club with an informational meeting at 7 p.m. Sept. 18 in the Cornell Cooperative Extension building, 420 E. Main St., Batavia. Youth aged 8 to 18 and their families are invited to find out about the program and let organizers know about their special interests. The Dog Club will hold its first meeting in October. FORE! – The Pendleton Lions Club will host its first Fall Golf Classic on Sept. 18 at Tan Tara Golf Club, 4391 Tonawanda Creek Road, Pendleton. REUNION ALERT – The annual all-year reunion for alumni of Bishop Colton High School will be held Oct. 1. Graduates of the Class of 1967 are particularly welcome.
