Pizza delivery driver robbed; phone helps ID suspect

A delivery driver for Master Pizza told police that when he was taking an order to Emerson Place he was robbed at gunpoint of food and $150 in cash at 12:20 a.m. Sunday.

Two men, including Khalil Burney, 21, of East Utica Street and an unknown accomplice allegedly called and then robbed the driver, police reported. The accomplice had been armed with a black handgun, according to the victim.

Police recovered the food and receipts at various locations and then located the cell phone used to place the order in the right pant pocket of Burney. The other suspect was not located.

Burney is charged with first-degree robbery, grand larceny, second-degree menacing and fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property.
