September is join-up month for the Polish Heritage Dancers of Western New York.
The children’s group for ages 4 to 8 starts practice at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 8. The youth group for ages 9 to 12 begins at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 11 and 7:30 p.m. Sept. 11 for teens and adults.
There is especially a need for males of all ages, said Michelle Kisluk.
All practices take place at Holy Mother of the Rosary Cathedral, 6298 Broadway, between Schwartz and Ransom roads, in Lancaster.
Folk costumes are provided. Dancers participate in events throughout the area, including many church-related celebrations marking various feast days. The festive “Polish Christmas in the Village” is set for Dec. 30 at the Lancaster Opera House, 21 Central Ave.
