PASS THE MUSTARD – The Tonawandas Erie Canal/Gateway Lions Club will hold a hot dog sale from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in front of the Valu Home Center in Delton Plaza, 4264 Delaware Ave., Town of Tonawanda. Sahlen’s hot dogs are $2. Beverages are $1.

MAKEUP DATE – The final performance in the Burchfield Nature and Art Center’s Summer Concert Series is one that was supposed to take place two months ago. Rained out on June 27, the West Seneca Town Band will play instead at 3 p.m. Sunday in the BNAC amphitheater, 2001 Union Road, West Seneca. Access the parking lot from Race Street. Admission is free.

CREATIVE LEAP – The noon-hour Imagine lecture series returns for a new season next week to the Central Library on Lafayette Square in downtown Buffalo.
The inaugural program on the arts and creativity begins at noon Tuesday with a Great Courses video, “Principles for Converging on the Best Ideas,” narrated by Gerard Puccio, chairman of the International Center for Studies in Creativity at SUNY Buffalo State.
Speaker at 12:30 p.m. will be Sandy Starks, director of interpretive programming at Forest Lawn.
Admission is free. You can bring a lunch or purchase one at the library’s Fables Cafe. The series is sponsored by the Center for the Study of Art, Architecture, History & Nature.

ENTER LAUGHING – The founding editor of The Onion, Scott Dikkers, will give an inside look at the humor publication in a program at 5 p.m. next Thursday in the Wick Campus Center Social Room at Daemen College. His presentation, “The Funny Story Behind the Funny Story,” will be followed by a reception. It is free and open to the public.
