Buffalo man charged in food deliveryman robbery

A Buffalo man was charged with a felony count of first-degree robbery for allegedly holding up a food deliveryman at gunpoint last week, Buffalo police said.

Melvin Williams, whose age was not available, was arrested, as was a female juvenile who was with him. It was not clear whether the girl was charged in the crime too.

At just after 6 p.m. Wednesday, two people robbed the delivery man at Clinton and Lord street, police said in a statement.

Police said Williams was armed with a black, long barrel handgun. The robbers took $200 in cash and three sub sandwiches.

Williams remained at the Erie County Holding Center Saturday.
