Frontier hopes to have new superintendent on board by February

Frontier Central School Board members hope to have a new superintendent in place by late January.

The board is seeking input from the community on the qualities and specifications for the successful candidate through an online survey and two meetings, board President Janet MacGregor Plarr said in a letter to the community.

Erie 1 BOCES Superintendent Lynn Fusco and Nancy Bojanowski, formerly of Erie 1 BOCES, also will meet with community members, faculty, staff, students and parents Sept. 18 in the high school cafeteria. Sessions will run from 2:45 to 4:45 p.m. and from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

A brochure is being prepared with specifications and information about Frontier. Applications from candidates are due Oct. 20.

Superintendent Bret Apthorpe is leaving to lead Jamestown City Schools starting Friday, and C. Douglas Whelan is serving as interim superintendent.
