What to do in a disaster? West Seneca offers training

Would you know what to do for your family and community if disaster strikes?

The West Seneca Office of Disaster Preparedness is offering a free training course, Community Emergency Response Training, or CERT, starting Sept. 12.  The course, which includes disaster simulation, will train attendees in fire safety, basic first aid, disaster preparedness, incident command, disaster psychology, teamwork and more.

There will be information on what supplies to stock in your house, as well as how much food and water is needed in a disaster.

The course runs for four weeks on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. at the West Seneca Emergency Operations Center, 900 Mill Road. To register go to to www.wscert.net.
