The Buffalo Bandits re-signed top scorer Dhane Smith to a two-year deal, the team announced Monday. The contract is pending league approval.
Smith, 25, was voted the NLL's Most Valuable Player in 2016 after setting league records in goals (72) and total points (137) in 18 games. He was the Bandits' scoring leader in 2017, as well, netting 30 goals and 81 points in 14 games.
Smith's 428 career points rank third in Bandits history, trailing only Mark Steenhuis and NLL record-holder John Tavares. The Bandits drafted the Kitchener, Ontario native fifth overall in 2012.
