Aug. 12 – Sixth Annual Clays for Heroes sporting clays shoot to benefit Honored American Veterans Afield (HAVA) at Rochester Brooks International, 962 Honeoye Falls #6 Road, Rush. One hundred-bird shoot – fun or registered targets. For more information contact Ashley Butcher at 698-5892.

Aug. 12 – North Forest Ladies Shoot N’ Hoot at North Forest Rod and Gun Club, 6257 Old Niagara Road, Lockport, starting at 1 p.m. Registration by August 9. Call Colleen Gaskill at 628-9023 for details or to sign up.

Aug. 12 – East Aurora Fish and Game Club will host a high-power rifle tournament starting at 10 a.m. for the first relay, 1 p.m. for the second. For more information contact Dave Romanczak at 652-8577. Rifles are service and match rifles combined.

Aug. 12-13 – WNY Bassmasters will hold two one-day tournaments on Chautauqua Lake starting at 6 a.m. For more information contact Keith Pease at 818-7350.

Aug. 12-13 – Fall Great Outdoor Days at the Cabela’s store located at 2003 Walden Ave., Cheektowaga. Everything hunting and fall outdoor activities. Capt. Joe Fonzi and TV Host Gerry Rightmyer will be on hand giving seminars. Aug. 16 – Power of Niagara bike tour at Devil’s Hole State Park with the Buffalo Niagara Riverkeeper from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Preregister at http://bnriverkeeper.org/rivertours.

Aug. 17 – Monthly general membership meeting of the Southtowns Walleye Association of WNY at the club house located at 5895 Sou8thwestern Blvd., Hamburg starting at 7:30 p.m.

Aug. 17 – Upstate NY PVF Dinner with Tom King at the Lockport Town and Country Club, 717 East Ave., Lockport. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. RSVP to Brenda Leder at 518-272-2654. King is the Executive Director to the NYS Rifle and Pistol Club and a NRA Board Member.

Aug. 17 – Erie County Chapter of SCOPE monthly meeting at Harvey D. Morin Post, 965 Center Road, West Seneca starting at 7 p.m.

Aug. 17 – Lake Erie Chapter - Fly Fishers International will be having their monthly meeting on Thursday, August 17, 2017 at the American Legion Post #735 on Legion Drive in West Seneca. Meeting will start promptly at 6 p.m. followed by a presentation about early stream steelhead fishing given by Nick Pionessa, a renowned local guide and commercial fly tyer. Public is welcome. Aug. 18 – Reelin’ for a Cure ladies trout and salmon tournament out of Wilson and Olcott 6 a.m. to noon. Call Stephanie Pierleoni  at 481-6388. It’s a great opportunity to help a most worthy cause. This year’s tournament will benefit the Breast Cancer Network of WNY.

Aug. 27 – Final day, Greater Niagara Fish Odyssey Derby ending at 1 p.m. Awards will be at 4 p.m. at the Olcott Fire Hall, Route 78, Olcott.

Aug. 28 – Niagara County Federation of Conservation Clubs will hold its monthly meeting at the Town of Lockport offices, Dysinger and Beattie roads, Lockport starting at 7 p.m.

Aug. 29 – Niagara County Fisheries Development Board meeting at Sunset Grill, Wilson Harbor starting at 7 p.m.
