Damage estimated at $150,000 in two-alarm fire on East Utica

A two-alarm fire caused an estimated $150,000 damage late Wednesday in the 450 block of East Utica Street between Wohlers Avenue and Roehrer Avenue, Buffalo fire dispatchers reported.

The fire started shortly before 11 p.m. on the first floor of the building, which contained a business, and spread to the second floor, dispatchers said. It was reported extinguished shortly after 12:30 a.m. Thursday.

Damage was pegged at $100,000 to the building and $50,000 to the contents, dispatchers said. The cause is under investigation, they noted.
