SkyOp, a Canandaigua company that offers training for commercial drone users, will present courses at Niagara County Community College in how to fly drones, starting Aug. 16.
The courses are targeted at those who need to be able to fly a drone as part of their job, according to Kathleen Schmalz of the Marketing Firm, a Utica company working for SkyOp. Registration is available through the NCCC website.
Schmalz said SkyOp will offer a three-week, 18-hour drone operation course for beginners, including preparation for the Federal Aviation Administration test required of commercial drone users. There also will be a six-hour course for those who already know how to use a drone but who need to prepare for the FAA exam.
