The Town of Amherst may hire a Rochester-based consultant for input on environmental issues related to the proposed Westwood development.
The Town Board on Monday will consider retaining Stantec Consulting Services to assist in reviewing and preparing Environmental Impact Statements for the project. Mensch Capital Partners has proposed a mixed-use development on the 170-acre former golf course between Sheridan Drive and Maple Road.
The project will require multiple rezonings. It is one of the largest land use applications ever submitted to the town.
The board on Monday will also consider establishing the Westwood Neighborhood Project Escrow Account funded by $100,000 from the investor group. The account would pay for preparation of the final environmental impact statement and provide assistance with the town's review of the project.
