A 35-year-old Olean man pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography, a charge that carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine, the U.S. Attorney's Office reported July 28.
An undercover law enforcement officer began communicating online with Shawn Lebrecht in August 2016, and Lebrecht sent the officer several images of child pornography, officials said. On
Aug. 25, a search warrant was executed at his East Green Street residence and, during the search, officers recovered a laptop computer that a forensics analysis determined contained more than 300 images of child pornography, according to the Attorney's Office. Some of the images depicted pre-pubescent children and violence, officials said.
The investigation included Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Homeland Security Investigations. Sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 24 before U.S. District Court Judge Elizabeth A. Wolford.
