HAVE A SIP – Wines from the Finger Lakes will be featured as St. Teresa’s Catholic Church holds a Wine Appreciation 101 evening from 7 to 10 p.m. in the Parish Center at 33 Mineral Springs Road. Leading the tasting will be winemaker William Ouweleen of Eagle Crest Vineyards on Hemlock Lake.
Tickets are $15, $25 per couple. There also will be a chocolate fountain with dipping foods, and appetizers, door prizes and baskets. Those attending must be 21 and older. For information, call 822-0608, Ext. 3.

ROLL OUT – Awards galore will be given at the Orchard Park Lions Club’s 23rd annual Quaker Days Car and Motorcycle Show and Cruise from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday in conjunction with Quaker Days celebration in Orchard Park. In all, 109 awards will be presented in 23 car and motorcycle classes.

This 1956 Buick convertible will be one of the cars at the Quaker Days Car and Motorcycle Show.

Vehicles will register for the show from 9 to 11 a.m. in the high school parking lot on Baker Road and cruise at 11 to the show site on North Buffalo Street, where there will be food, beverages and live music by Joe & the Schmoes. JOIN IN – The Women’s Auxiliary of West Seneca Post 735, American Legion, will hold a new member social at 7 p.m. next Wednesday in the post at 35 Legion Parkway. All women wishing to join are invited. To RSVP, call Ann Connolly at 601-9292.

LACE UP – The sixth annual Lindsay Matthews 5K run and one-mile walk will be held at 10 a.m. Sunday at the Orchard Park Soccer Complex, 6909 Milestrip Road, Orchard Park. Awards will be given to the top finishers in 13 categories. A party with food and live music will follow.

Registration begins at 8 a.m. Fee for the run is $25, $15 for students. Fee is $15 for the walk and $8 for the kids’ fun run. First 350 to register receive T-shirts. Proceeds benefit the Lindsay Matthews Memorial Scholarship.
A 2007 graduate of Orchard Park High School, where she was an honor student and standout soccer player, Lindsay died in 2008 in a highway accident in Geneseo. For more information, call 667-3786 or visit lindsaymatthews.com.

REUNION TIME – South Park High School’s Class of 1958 will hold a reunion and picnic from 2 p.m. to dusk Aug. 3 at the Commissioner’s Cabin in Chestnut Ridge Park, Orchard Park.
