Pop-up health event to offer safety, insurance advice

A nonprofit health insurer for those eligible for Medicaid, Child Health Plus (CHP), Essential Plan, and other government-sponsored programs will host a pop-up event focused on summer safety Thursday at its downtown office.

The free event will run from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at YourCare Health Plan, 446 Main St., near Lafayette Square.

Community organizations that will provide information include the Veteran’s Outreach Center and P2 Collaborative of WNY. Spiderman will arrive at noon and there will be face painting and crafts for kids. Those who attend also may meet with YourCare Marketplace facilitated enrollers to see if they qualify for free or low-cost health insurance.

The enrollment staff also is available 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays to inquire about health insurance, receive help in building a family health care plan and research primary care providers.
