That's a lot of bosses
The Common Council's new chief of staff is no stranger to City Hall.
And he’s already pretty familiar with his bosses – all nine of them.
Malcolm Ertha started working for the City of Buffalo as an intern 10 years ago for Lovejoy Councilman Richard Fontana and moved up the ranks. He's worked in the City Clerk’s office, the Council’s central staff office, and he even helped pioneer a transparency project to computerize the Council’s agendas so his bosses and the public can track legislation, among other uses.
Other staffers and Council members who have worked with Ertha over the years say he's well-liked and "always the go-to guy."
“He’s someone who understands the nature of the Council. He knows our culture, how we operate, the confidentiality of each office – all while balancing nine bosses,” said Councilman Rasheet Wyatt of the University District.
Congratulations, Malcolm, and good luck with that balancing act.
The Zoning Board of Appeals meets at 2 p.m. in Room 901 in City Hall. On the agenda are public hearings starting at 4:30 p.m. on a new, state-of-the-art Dash’s supermarket in North Buffalo and Chason Affinity Co.’s condominium project for Elmwood Village. The public hearings will be held in Common Council Chambers on the 13th floor.
