New Kenmore Village Board trustee will be sworn in Tuesday

Joseph M. DeCecco will be sworn in as a new trustee on the Kenmore Village Board at the board's meeting Tuesday evening.

DeCecco will assume the trustee position that had been held by R. Timothy McCarthy. McCarthy died on Nov. 30 after a short illness.

DeCecco lives in the Village of Kenmore and works as a history and U.S. government teacher at Lackawanna High School.

"I'm looking forward to serving the Kenmore community," said DeCecco in a statement. "Kenmore is such a great place and it's important for me to give back to the village."

Mayor Patrick Mang said DeCecco was selected after a lengthy bipartisan canvass.

DeCecco will be sworn in at 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Kenmore Municipal Building, 2919 Delaware Ave. Village Justice Scott Riordan will administer the oath of office.
