Hand in Hand program is a heartwarming story
I just finished reading The News article about the Hand in Hand program at Health Sciences Charter School. What a heartwarming story. The students seem truly happy to be learning and helping other children. While their 3-D hands may not be as “functional” as professional-grade prosthetics, they will still provide assistance to children who receive them. The recipients seem excited to get the new hands. It seems to be a win-win situation.
Kudos to all involved in the program. The students, in particular, should be commended and encouraged to pursue these avenues of learning. We need to hear more about students like this. I am convinced they are out there, but we just don’t hear about them. Sadly they are drowned out by all of the negative news of the day.
