Lawrence M. Eggert, whose 36 years in the Lockport Police Department included eight years as chief, is running for alderman at large on the Republican ticket in November.
“My agenda is simple: Focus on providing the taxpayers with the highest level of services at the least possible cost,” Eggert said. “I have the experience on Day One to do that."
He said he intends to address concerns about crime, infrastructure, attracting new business and "the need to pay special attention to city finances to prevent a repeat of the problems that pushed our city to the brink of bankruptcy."
Eggert is working as a private consultant and also as an adjunct professor in criminal justice at SUNY Buffalo State and Erie Community College. He serves on the boards of several community groups.
