Buffalo will provide $500,000 for the Beverly Gray Business Exchange Center on Buffalo’s East Side.
The business center is a one-stop technical assistance and resource facility located on Utica Avenue near Jefferson Avenue in the former home of the East Utica Library. The center provides support to small businesses owned by minorities, women and service-disabled veterans in the city.
The funding agreement was approved by the Common Council during its business meeting on Tuesday.
The $500,000 will help pay for a program operator and property manager at the center, said Mayor Byron W. Brown.
Tenants already operating in the center include Excelsior Growth Fund, Urban Equity, PathStone Enterprise Center and Mustard Seed Consulting as well as Compliance and Administrative Services of WNY.
