Time to end corn subsidies for giant corporate farms
Gasoline prices are at a 10-year low. There is no shortage of oil now or in the foreseeable future. Why then, the mandate that we add corn to our fuel? Who does this benefit? It raises prices on many types of food, and is less efficient as far as fuel economy.
These giant corporate farms are getting huge amounts of subsidies, for what? The little guy in Eden is growing his corn for food and livestock feed and gets no subsidies. With prices as low as they are, now is the time to raise the federal gas tax and dedicate the funds for infrastructure.
