LEWISTON – State Police said they charged a Niagara Falls woman with violating Leandra’s Law about 8 p.m. Sunday after a two-vehicle accident at Center and Ninth streets in Lewiston.
Troopers said one of the drivers, Amber Huisgen, 37, showed signs of intoxication while they were investigating the crash. After a field sobriety test, officers took her to the Niagara barracks, where she refused to take a breath test.
She was charged with driving while intoxicated under Leandra’s Law because a 4-year-old child was a passenger in her vehicle at the time of the accident, State Police reported.
Troopers said she was ticketed and released pending an appearance in Lewiston Town Court.
