WGRZ weather anchor Kevin O'Connell is one of the growing number of on-air personalities who have delayed their planned retirements to stay on the air.
But the Buffalo Broadcasting Hall of Famer has not been seen for the past month, leading inquiring minds to wonder what's up.
In a text, O'Connell wrote that he is recovering from a medical issue and is expected to return shortly.
O'Connell initially had planned to retire earlier this year, then announced that he was staying until June of 2018, following a trend that included John Beard of Channel 2 and – as of today – Mike Randall of Channel 7.
O’Connell works a four-weekday schedule, handling the 5 p.m., 5:30 p.m., 6 p.m., 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. duties from Tuesday through Friday.
