ALL EARS – A new Puppy Tales story time series begins at 10:15 a.m. Friday in Dog Ears Bookstore and Café, 688 Abbott Road. The six-week program is for children ages 2 to 4 accompanied by an adult.

TEE IT UP – The Hospice Foundation will benefit as No Frills Buffalo publishing company holds its annual golf outing July 7 at Chestnut Hill Country Club, 1330 Broadway, Darien Center. Registration and lunch begin at 12:30 p.m., followed by a shotgun start at 1:30.

CATCH THE WIND – Boat owners can learn the ins and outs of competitive sailing in the “Learn to Race” program offered by the Buffalo Harbor Sailing Club beginning next month.
A dockside session will be held from 6 to 8:30 p.m. July 10 at RCR Yachts and Marina, 284 Fuhrmann Blvd., to explain the rules, the race course setup and race etiquette. A mentor who is an experienced racer then will be assigned to sail with participating boats on three consecutive Tuesday evenings, beginning July 18, to familiarize them with racing techniques on the water.
Boat crews who take part in the program will be eligible to race for the rest of the BHSC race season for the cost of regular membership, which is $50. Preregistration is required. For more info, visit buffaloharborsailingclub.org.
