Treasurer admits stealing $12,500 from social club

A 60-year-old West Seneca man admitted in Erie County Court that he stole money from a social club while serving as its treasurer.

Craig Hicks, a former West Seneca Town Board member, pleaded guilty before Judge Kenneth F. Case to one count of grand larceny and one count of falsifying business records for stealing $12,500 from cash fundraisers and the operating of the Carriagers Social Club, a fraternal organization.

Hicks committed the thefts between February 2014 and April 2015, when he was the club's treasurer. He has since made full restitution and is scheduled to be sentenced on Sept. 11.

Assistant District Attorney Christopher P. Jurusik from the DA’s Special Investigations and Prosecutions Bureau prosecuted the case.
