Left turn causes crash that injures other driver

A West Seneca man was ticketed after he turned left in front of an oncoming vehicle in the Town of Hanover Sunday morning, causing a crash that injured the other driver, the Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office reported.

Deputies were called to the intersection of Route 5 and 20 and Alleghany Road shortly before 8:45 a.m. They found that Patrick White, 69, had turned left in front of a vehicle driven by Maria Baez, 27, of Silver Creek, resulting in the crash.

Baez was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. White was issued a traffic ticket for failure to yield to the right of way.

The Silver Creek and Sunset Bay fire departments assisted at the scene.
