Assailants flee after attempted robbery at University metro station

Three assailants tried to rob two people Thursday night at the University metro station on the University at Buffalo's South Campus, according to the university.

One of the three would-be robbers displayed a knife during the attempt, which happened at about 9:30 p.m., the university said Friday morning.

Two of the assailants were male and one was female. They shoved the victims before fleeing the scene without taking any property from them.

Authorities ask anyone who may have information to contact the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority Transit Police tip line at 716-331-7187.

Suspicious persons or activities can be reported at any time to University Police at 716-645-2227.
