Audrey Morris, a retired Buffalo college librarian, died June 10 in the Mayflower Retirement Community, Winter Park, Fla. She was 95.
Born in Buffalo, the former Audrey Britz was a 1939 graduate of South Park High School and earned a degree in elementary education from Buffalo State Teachers College in 1943. She returned to study at Hilbert College in the late 1960s and graduated with a degree in library science.
She was a librarian at Buffalo State from 1970 to 1978, then was a research librarian at the University at Buffalo from 1978 to 1982. She moved from Town of Tonawanda to Florida in 1985 and, in her 70s, became a licensed masseuse in Florida.
The mother of seven, she married Dr. Allen G. Sexton in 1944. He died in 1967. In 1980, she was remarried to Evan Jervis “Jerry” Morris, who died in 2000.
Survivors include four sons, Allen D. Sexton, Michael B. Sexton, Kevin W. Sexton and John A. Sexton; three daughters, Maureen A. Longo, Rev. Patricia M. Sexton and Nancy A. Sexton; two step-sons, Jerry Morris Jr. and Thomas Morris; three step-daughters, Kathy Schlentrich, Diane Morris and Susan Morris; 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
