Flash floods and severe thunderstorms may continue in some Western New York counties this evening, according to the National Weather Service.
There are flash flood watches for Allegany, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Southern Erie and Wyoming counties through midnight.
There are severe thunderstorm warnings in most of Chautauqua and Cattaraugus counties until 8:30 p.m.
Jeff Wood, a meteorologist in the service's Buffalo office, said the area of concern for most of the day was, essentially anything west of Watertown. The storms disrupted several area events, including delaying the start of the Kiss the Summer Hello concert at Canalside in Buffalo
Temperatures in Buffalo reached a high of 86 shortly before noon and then dropped into the 70s as the storm system arrived.
