Field trip money stolen at Buffalo charter school

Officials at the Buffalo Academy of Science Charter School, 190 Franklin St., told police Friday that $1,184 in cash was stolen from a classroom.

Central District police said they were told by school officials that the money, which was in a folder on a teacher's desk, was being collected to pay for a field trip. It was taken sometime between the afternoon of June 8 and the following morning, when the teacher noticed the money was missing.

Police said the school turned over about 40 minutes of surveillance video. The camera is in a hallway and shows people going in and out of the classroom.
