NFL Hall of Famer and former Buffalo Bill Bruce Smith will make his "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives" debut at 9 p.m. June 16 on the Food Network in an episode titled "From Spicy to Icy."
Here is the channel's teaser of the show: "This trip, Guy Fieri's heating up with some spice and cooling off with some ice. In Cathedral City, Calif., a barbecue joint pilin' up the meats and firin' up their "flamethrower." And in Norfolk, Va., a wild wing spot going big with their buffalo and killing it with their Cajun. Then, in Maui, Hawaii, a funky place dishin' out the bomb lobster grilled cheese followed up by a tropical shaved ice specialty.
The Virginia segment will focus on show host Fieri's trip to The Dirty Buffalo, a restaurant owned by University at Buffalo alumni Russell and Stephanie Gilbert, specializing in chicken wings and a lengthy list of sauces.
Before opening his restaurant in 2012, Russell – a longtime Bills fan – made it his goal to contact Smith, who lives roughly 20 minutes away in Virginia Beach, to get the football great to try his wings. A relationship quickly developed, and in late April, a Food Network crew stopped by the Gilberts' restaurant, with Fieri and Smith appearing for a brief shoot the following day.

Now, five years later, Smith will help represent the restaurant on a major TV show.
