Two sheriff's deputies were injured in separate attacks by Erie County Holding Center inmates this week, the Erie County Sheriff's Office said.
Troung Cao, 32, of Buffalo, is accused of punching a deputy at about 2:15 p.m. Tuesday, the Sheriff's Office said, calling it an "unprovoked attack." The deputy, who suffered significant bleeding, was taken to Erie County Medical Center for treatment, according to the Sheriff's Office.
Cao, who was being held on public lewdness charges, was charged with assault with intent to cause injury to an officer and assault while confined to a correctional facility.
Cashmeire Albert, 25, of Buffalo, is accused of biting a deputy in the arm on Wednesday night, causing "significant bleeding and swelling," the Sheriff's Office said. The deputy was taken to ECMC. Albert was being held on felony forgery charges. She was charged with assault while confined to a correctional facility.
