The Amherst Planning Board on Thursday adjourned until its August meeting a review of the site plan for Ciminelli Real Estate Corp.'s proposed development of 133 single-family homes in the Muir Woods property in the town's northwest corner.
The 6-0 vote came after 15 residents commented on the subdivision, named "The Preserve at Muir Woods," which would be built on 46 acres on the east side of the 326-acre site bounded by the Lockport Expressway, Sweet Home Road, North French Road and Campbell Boulevard.
Neighbors raised concerns about an entrance Ciminelli is planning to build into the development from Campbell, at the town's request, saying Campbell already has too much traffic. They preferred a connection to the John James Audubon Parkway to the south.
The Planning Board adjourned the project because it is awaiting comment from state environmental regulators.
This proposal revives a Muir Woods site that has sat vacant for 17 years under Ciminelli's ownership.
