NFTA identifies victims in fatal hit-and-run at airport

Niagara Frontier Transportation Authorities have identified the woman killed June 7 in a fatal hit-and-run two-car collision at the Buffalo Niagara International Airport.

Daisy Josiah, 53, of Maplewood, Minn., a passenger in a car, was fatally injured on Luiz F. Kahl Way.

Also injured were the driver, Myo Kyaw, 45, of Buffalo, and passengers Aye Phyu, 43, and Paw Toe, both of Maplewood, Minn., and Firnly New, 65, of St. Paul, Minn. No age was available for Paw Toe.

Lawrence J. Penna, 68, of Amherst, was charged with leaving the scene of a fatal crash. Authorities tracked him down using images from cameras in the area near the crash scene and arrested him at his home, said Joanna Pasceri, spokeswoman for the Erie County District Attorney's Office.

He left the scene "because he was scared," according to prosecutors.
