Police working to identify man fatally shot in South Buffalo

Police homicide detectives were working Tuesday to identify the body of a man who was fatally shot Monday night on Pries Avenue in South Buffalo, according to Buffalo Police.

The shooting happened at about 11:45 p.m. on the 100 block of Pries, which runs between South Park Avenue and Hopkins Street, several blocks north of Tifft Street, authorities said.

The victim, who appeared to be in his mid-20s, was shot "multiple times," according to Michael J. DeGeorge, a spokesman for the Buffalo Police Department. He was declared dead at the scene, he said.

Detectives were continuing an investigation into the fatal shooting.
