2 Williamsville trustees running unopposed this month in village election

Two Williamsville trustees are running unopposed in village elections on June 20.

Trustees Basil J. Piazza and Deborah Rogers are seeking four-year terms on the five-member Village Board.

A village resident of 42 years, Piazza has served three consecutive terms on the board since 2005. Prior to that he served two terms as mayor from 1995 until 2003. He is a retired English teacher of 36 years, including 32 years at Maryvale High School, and a retired lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve.

Rogers has served as chairwoman of the Village of Williamsville Meeting House Committee for the past seven years and as a member of the Community Enhancement Committee for the Williamsville Library annual fundraiser for the past five years. She was appointed in March to fill a vacant seat on the board.

Voting will take place from noon to 9 p.m. June 20 in Village Hall, 5565 Main St.
