CORFU – A female driver was trapped in her vehicle for about a half-hour after a head-on crash on Route 77 near the entrance to the Darien Lake Theme Park about 10 p.m. Saturday. After being extracted from her damaged vehicle, the woman was flown to Erie County Medical Center.
Corfu fire officials said two occupants of the other vehicle were taken by ambulance to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. As of late Sunday night, the names of the three injured persons had not been released by fire and law enforcement officials in Genesee County.
The cause of the crash reportedly remains under investigation. As of late Sunday night, neither driver had been charged.
